Flowers For My Future Self
To Future Me,
It is difficult to imagine the person you hope to be in the future when the present sometimes feels unknown as well. There are moments where you wish things were a little clearer in almost every aspect of your life, but I guess the important thing about all this is figuring it out as you go (even through the ups and downs). First things first, I hope that you are able to accomplish everything you dream about. With that, I mean the job at the company you’ve been eyeing for years to support the New York City lifestyle you admire so much (obviously). My hope for you is that the vision that keeps you up at night, one day does become your reality. I am well aware that you have probably chased it down by now, so maybe congratulations are actually in order. Even your blog, I know you do it for fun now, but your aspiration to take it places must have exceeded all your expectations. That is what I want for you now, and hopefully what you want in the future too. I understand that the path you have made for yourself might have a few minor detours, and that is also okay. Always prioritize making the decision that is best for you. For the longest time, you have always talked about the importance of happiness, and while those things bring you that I hope you are also able to find it in other places as well. I would like to assume that within a few years to come you will continue to work hard without the expense of your time with friends and family. I know it is easy to get caught up in working towards an end goal (I know because you do it now), but I hope that you seize every opportunity that comes your way. Whether that is enjoying some time off or traveling the world I predict/wish you do it all! This is honestly your only chance at life, so please make sure it is worth your while. If you learn anything from me (younger you), let it be that sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the best things for you are what you never imagined. Step outside of your comfort zone once in a while. Furthermore, you have succeeded even with all the hardships currently circulating around your life, and while the world may not know the burden on your shoulders … you sure do which is all that matters. Regardless of what you're doing or where you are, you have gotten so far and achieved what felt impossible in earlier moments. Reflecting forward with what may seem as reflecting back to you, I hope that you’re proud of the person you’ve become. I hope you’re the person you’ve always strived to be - the one I currently work towards. A woman that stands with strength, passion, ambition, and compassion. I come from a viewpoint that is rather protected I guess. I have no idea what you’re going to face. There is a possibility that things will either get better or worse. These things were always out of our control, but the one thing we can control is what we learn out of it. I am unable to promise that whatever you want will come true, but I know you will learn a lot. Everything will indirectly help you either physically or mentally. Remember that you have the potential to make every situation better, and be a better person at the end of it. I will continue rooting for you till the end of time!
