A Love Letter To My Hacker

Whether you’re new or an active reader, I am incredibly grateful that my blog posts generate hundreds of views per week. Though it’s no surprise that the more popular something becomes, the more malicious people become towards it. If you had or had not noticed my brief absence, it didn’t come from negligence (not that I perfectly meet every Monday deadline mwahaha), but due to an attempted hack. Honestly, I can’t tell whether to be offended or flattered that you loved my blog so much you wanted premium access (oh so silly of you). In case you thought your stunt was performed anonymously, I'm so sorry to announce that it wasn’t. Since you didn’t seem to respect my privacy I have been considering exposing you, your IP address, and your exact location, but I just so happen to be in a forgiving mood. So, for now, your secret is safe with me. Although, if it happens again, (I would be VERY careful if I were you) be aware that I won’t hesitate to use that information to my advantage. For the past couple of weeks, I have been trying to rationalize this and genuinely understand the reasoning behind this. As much as I enjoy it, my blog is harmless - you either read it or you don’t, so why right? My theory, which I've derived through numerous instances (including my own mistakes), is that it is because we enable ourselves to feel threatened by other people’s successes. When someone does something that we hadn’t thought of or wish we did because it seems to be going well (because I never outright say yea, my blog does really great!), we view it as our own competition even if it has nothing to do with us. Instead of letting it fuel our own ambitions and visions, we become caught up in someone else's. When I first began this little journey, the amount of people that came up to me and said “I want to create my own blog now” or “wish I had thought of it” is absolutely insane. If you want to do it then you will always have my support to do so, I do this for fun and for no other reason. Not for your approval, but my own. Even if you decided to create one I wouldn’t consider it as my competitor. However, if you’re doing it just because I created one then find a new hobby. Think of this as my way of saying, if you’ve ever wanted to start a project (both big and small) just take a leap of faith and literally just do it. Stop caring about what other people are doing! If something inspires you, use it as your motivation instead of letting it bring you down and reroute you off course. Everyone possesses their own talents and aspirations, so make a difference using your own. You could be the next Elon Musk, but who knows if you never try? A little free tip for you (actually my entire blog is free tips) Musk isn’t a genius because he hacked into other people’s blogs. With that being said, for god's sake, leave my blog alone. Thanks. See you next week.

- With love, Fiza Usman
