Feb Favorites <3

Time continuously moves faster than I can even stop to think. While February flew by quite quickly, I devoted quite some time to thinking about the things that brought me joy this past month. Enjoy :)

10. My Jellycat

He quiet fr. Always in his own world.

9. WakuWaku Ramen Harvard Square

One thing about me is that I am incredibly indecisive when it comes to dinner. Sometime early in the month, I was absolutely craving ramen and couldn’t go to many of the restaurants as they predominately use pork broth. I found this little place in Cambridge (right in Harvard square) that had a mixture of meats for once, so I was so excited to go. They had a DJ, Cute little LED lights, and really good food (although a little spicy). Overall, it was a pretty fun experience. Please eat here and send me a photo! Thanks!

8. Taking vitamins every day

For some reason, I always thought that vitamins weren’t as effective as they claimed to be. When I got sick this month my mom ordered me Vitamin C tablets with both Vitamin D and Zinc. I noticed such a big difference after eating it every night. Not only did my skin feel a little brighter but I personally feel more energetic and rejuvenated. Whether or not it is a placebo, I will still keep the reminder on my phone telling me to eat them.

7. Doordash calling

Ok, so maybe this one is a little embarrassing and weird but there is nothing in this world that would ever stop me. I speak for everyone when I say that when you order food on DoorDash it is significantly less than it would be if you went in person. Now, if I am spending money on food I want a substantial amount. To make sure I am getting my money’s worth, I will always (I mean always) call the place I have ordered from and politely tell them that I am starving and to please put in a lot. This only works in restaurants like CAVA, Chipotle, etc. Ten times out of ten they have always responded nicely and took care of me each time. Is it a little annoying? sure. Does it get the job done? Absolutely.

6. Nails!

I got my acrylics shorter (thank god) and did a red french tip. I realize that I prefer simple nails because it’s hard to notice when they’ve grown out. I think I have waited long enough now though because they are in desperate need of removal.

5. My creamy chicken pasta

I loveeeee making pasta and trying new recipes. I made this recipe immediately after finding it online and it came out so amazing! I was proud of myself for that one. Unfortunately, I only have a photo of the chicken and not the whole presentation, but that’s okay I’m sure ill find an opportunity to make it again.

4. The pink roses on my windowsill

Just because :) Who doesn’t like flowers?

3. Company

February was just filled with great company. My mom and best friend from home visited me in Boston. I got to work with so many incredible people on Culture Show. Beyond that, there are so many lovely faces I love seeing on campus and hearing from. Muah.

2. My Lehenga

Since I only own very few cultural clothes, I bought a new one for the upcoming show to kill two birds with one stone. Somehow my mother found Renu Aunty who has a shop right outside the city. While I loved the piece I bought I truly just appreciated her as well. The tailor had unfortunately made the blouse too small, and given that the show was two days away I began to panic. I went to the tailor the next morning to get it fixed and the lady kept charging me 50+ and speaking to me in a language I couldn’t understand. With the language barrier I couldn’t reason with her nor was I willing to pay more after I had already paid and taken another uber out there.

Extremely overwhelmed I called Renu Aunty and explained the situation, and she immediately dropped everything to come to the tailor shop. She managed to get it tailored right then and there for no charge. I really appreciated how willing she was to do that for me. People like that are rare.

1. Culture Show - especially Fashion Show

It was beautiful. Everyone looked beautiful. I’m so happy that everyone participated, and hope you all were happy. :-)

With love, Fiza Usman
